Beatrice Sausage Festival, 2nd Annual

A fun filled festival of activities, food, and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy!

Children can enjoy Games, Pony Rides, Hay Rides, an inflatable Jump and Slide, today’s version of “bobbing for apples”, and decorating pumpkins in time for Halloween!

Enjoy a grilled hickory smoked Sausage Dog or bowl of Red Beans and Rice made with delicious Monroe Sausage while you enjoy music and entertainment provided by local individuals and groups.

Prepare and enter your favorite recipe using Monroe Sausage in the

2st Annual Monroe Sausage Recipe Contest (see rules below)

The Beatrice Garden Club will be holding a Bake Sale, so you will be able to

take home delicious homemade cakes and pies. They will also have their Rada knives and kitchen accessories available for sale.

While in Beatrice for the festival, visit historic Rikard's Mill and Village of Buena Vista.

Be sure to save some time to shop in our unique businesses and stroll through the lovely grounds of Beatrice Garden Club's Memorial Garden.

2st Annual Monroe Sausage Recipe Contest Rules

Categories: 1-Appetizer, 2-Breakfast, 3-Soup/Supper

Winners will be selected from each category and an Overall Winner will also be selected.

Only recipes using Original or Mild Monroe Sausage will be allowed, and entry must be

submitted in a 2-3 cup covered disposable container with entrant’s phone number on the

bottom. Recipe must be submitted on the official Monroe Sausage Recipe Contest Entry

form. The recipe ingredients and directions must be submitted exactly as the entry dish is

prepared. Entries without an official entry form and not in disposable container will not be

accepted. Dishes with Entry Forms must be turned-in between 11:00 and 11:30 Entry

forms, Food Containers, and Monroe Brand Sausage will be available at Beatrice Meat

Company at 2595 Grant Blvd. Ground (patty type) Monroe Sausage will be available

October 20 – 24 ONLY for use in the Monroe Sausage Recipe Contest.
