Appetizer - 2008 Monroe Sausage Recipe Contest
Winner: Judy Purnell
- *1 Lb. Mild Monroe Sausage (Ground Sausage)
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
- 2 cans diced chili peppers
- 1 tsp. Garlic powder
- * 1 Pkg. Hawaiian Sweet Bread (Round)
1 bag Fritos Scoops
Fry sausage and drain. Add sour cream, cream cheese, chili peppers, and garlic powder. Mix well. Then add 1 cup grated sharp cheese. Heat until cheese is melted.
Cut a circle out of the bread. Pour above mixture into bread, sprinkle 1 cup of sharp grated cheese on top. Place in oven on 350° until cheese is melted. Serve hot with Fritos Scoops.
*You may use sourdough bread and Original sausage
